New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over his remarks against Rahul Gandhi.

The Assam CM, during a rally in poll-bound Uttarakhand on Friday, attacked and tore-apart Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi and tear him apart for raising doubts on surgical strike in 2016 and as well questioning the efficacy of the anti-covid vaccines.

Speaking further, the Chief Minister of Assam also asked whether the BJP had ever demanded any proof of Rahul Gandhi being the ''son of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi''.

Reacting over the statement of Assam CM, Telangana CM during a public meeting in Raigiri, asked PM Modi and BJP Chief JP Nadda to sack the Assam CM.

"You sack him. I am demanding... Can a Chief Minister talk like this? There are limits. Are you egoistic? Doing tamasha? You think people will remain silent," said KCR.

He further said that he demanding this as an India and he is ashamed of what Assam CM said.

''Is it BJP's culture? Is it Hindu Dharma and Indian culture? I am demanding as an Indian. I feel ashamed. This is not good for the country. Do you think we will keep quiet with folded hands?" he added.

"The chief minister has made very deplorable remarks. It is an insult to the (former) prime minister of India Rajiv Gandhi and Congress interim president Sonia,'' NSUI National Secretary Nitish Gaur said.
